Family owned and operated, Backwards Distilling Company was founded in 2014 in Mills, Wyoming by the Pollock Family. Since then, we have expanded our distillery and opened our downtown Casper Tasting Room.


We never set out to just create one thing.  We are most intrigued by the infinite possibilities of flavor creations in distilled spirits and we love to have fun with experimenting. From foraging on Casper Mountain for gin botanicals to distilling 100% honey fermentations, we are always up for a new adventure.

Very often, our concepts for new products begin with a cocktail in mind. Whether it is something that we’ve tried in our Tasting Room or some flavor combination we’ve experienced somewhere else, exploring food and beverage as consumers has always been the place we draw our inspiration from.

One of the places we really get to flex our creative muscles is in our Tasting Room, where we create unique cocktails that reflect the eccentricities of our brand. We’ve created everything from a seasonal MirePoix martini to a BBQ inspired summertime menu, and we will send recipes home with you if you just ask. There’s nothing to hide in this circus!

As we grow as a company, we find increasing opportunities to be more experimental. In fact, our newest project is our experimental line where we can showcase one-off products and more niche types of flavors for our most adventurous followers. The possibilities are endless with this line so bring on the extraordinary and embrace the unusual!
